Meet Jordyn Foster — the Townsend softball player chasing college ball
Powered by Walker Mortgages, your hometown mortgage coach.
Meet Jordyn Foster. She is 14, from Townsend, and she pitches and plays first base for the Haldimand Heat. Jordyn has been on a ball diamond since she was five years old, back when t-ball was just a game her family signed her up for. Nine years later it has carried her all the way to a Team Ontario jersey and a tournament in Florida. Here is her story, in her own words.
Her Story
Jordyn's softball story starts the way a lot of the best ones do, with a little kid and a tee. She was five years old when she first stepped onto the diamond, and she has not really left it since. What began as t-ball turned into a sport she gives everything to, season after season.
Her proudest moment so far came when she was selected to the Team Ontario High-Performance Development Program for 2025-26. That selection put her among some of the best young players in the province, and it took her somewhere she will not forget. In March, the program traveled to Florida, and Jordyn got to play the game she loves under the sun, against strong competition, wearing her province on her chest. For a kid from Townsend, that is a long way from the local diamond where it all started.
Ask Jordyn who got her there and she points straight at her dad. He has been her biggest motivator from the beginning, the one who pushes her and supports her and keeps reminding her she can be the best athlete she is willing to work to become. That steady belief shows up every time she takes the circle for the Heat.

What's Next
Jordyn keeps her goals simple and honest. She wants to keep improving, keep working, and earn her way to college softball down the road. There is no shortcut in that plan, just steady effort and a love for getting better.
The future she is chasing reaches past the diamond too. Jordyn wants to keep playing softball after college, and she wants to earn a degree in sports therapy. It is a goal that fits her perfectly, staying close to the game and the athletes she understands, and helping them get back on the field when they need it most.
Who She's Thanking
Jordyn has a long list of people in her corner, and she is quick to name them. She thanks her mom, her dad, her grandma, and her papa, the family she says loves and supports her always. She thanks Coach Amanda, who pushes her to be the best pitcher she can be. And she gives a shoutout to her teammates Anna and Lexia, who help her have fun and make her a better softball player. That is what hometown ball is all about.
