Hometown Sports Recap — Wednesday, June 10, 2026 — Caledonia Bears Stung by 9th-Inning Walk-Off
Wednesday night delivered a full slate across Norfolk and Haldimand, headlined by a gut-punch in 18U Tier 1 baseball: the Caledonia Bears built a7-0lead and lost it, falling on a walk-off in the 9th. Around the counties, the Haldimand Heat 11U rallied from five runs down, the Delhi Tigers broke a game open with one big inning, and the Hagersville ladies hung 15 on Six Nations.
Game of the Night: Caledonia Bears T1 18U at Wranglers 18U
For eight innings, the Caledonia Bears T1 18U look like they have this one in hand. They jump on the Wranglers early and build a 7-0 cushion, with the bats clicking up and down the order. Levi Snider collects three hits. Billy Corrigan turns on one in the 3rd and sends a three-run homer over the fence. Braxton Fleguel and Joe Green keep the line moving, each pushing a run across.
Caledonia out-hits the Wranglers 12 to 6 and looks in control. Then the game turns. The Wranglers chip away, find a crack in the 8th, and plate four runs to climb right back into it.
In the bottom of the 9th, they finish the comeback. A walk-off swing ends it, and a night that belonged to Caledonia for eight innings slips away.
It is a tough way to lose a game the Bears led wire to wire for most of the night. But the offense showed up in a big way, and a 12-hit afternoon on the road is something to build on. On most nights, a 7-0 lead holds up. The Bears will want this one back.
Final: Wranglers 18U 8, Caledonia Bears T1 18U 7.
