Game of the Night: Port Dover vs Caledonia Bears 15U

Misner Park has seen its share of summer baseball, but Wednesday night belonged to the bats. The visiting Caledonia Bears 15U came to Port Dover and never stopped swinging, racking up 23 hits on their way to a 16-7 win.

The tone-setter was Myles Caton, who turned in a perfect night at the plate. Four trips, four hits, including a double. Every time Caledonia needed a base-runner, Caton seemed to be the one standing on the bag.

He had plenty of company. Jacob Neilson and Knox Galbraith both went multi-hit and drove in runs, keeping the line moving and the scoreboard turning over. When a lineup collects 23 knocks, the runs take care of themselves.

Port Dover did not go quietly. C. Mallais ripped a two-RBI single to put a dent in the lead and keep the home crowd in it. But the Bears had too much offense on this night, answering every push with another rally.

Final: Caledonia Bears 15U 16, Port Dover 7.
