Game of the Night: Port Dover Clippers SR vs River Canard Mallards
Sunday at Sam Lamb Field in Tillsonburg, the Port Dover Clippers seniors get to work early and never let up. Simpn Storoschuk sets the tone with the bat, launching two home runs and driving in five, and the Clippers keep adding on until River Canard has nowhere to climb back to.
On the mound, Wilson is the story. He works six innings, strikes out four, and does not give up a single run, mixing his pitches and letting the defense do the rest. Heipel chips in an RBI, the bats stay patient, and the lead just keeps climbing.
When the final out lands, it is an 11-0 shutout, and it is only the start. The Clippers turn right around and take all three of their games on the day, edging Beamsville 3-1 behind a Davis complete game and closing with a 12-4 win over Woodstock. Three games, three wins, one shutout, and a pile of hard contact.
It was a complete day from a senior squad that came to play. One big bat up top, a steady arm behind it, and zero let-up from the first pitch to the last.
Final: Port Dover Clippers SR 11, River Canard Mallards 0.
