Meet Lukas Inman. He is 16, from Vittoria, and he patrols centre field and works behind the plate for the Simcoe Giants. Lukas has been playing ball for 13 years, ever since he watched his dad take the field in a local fast pitch league and fell in love with the game. Now he is chasing one more OBA championship before his minor ball days are done. Here is his story in his own words.
His Story
Lukas grew up at the ballpark. Long before he had a glove of his own, he was in the stands watching his dad play fast pitch, soaking up the game one inning at a time. He fell in love with it. His dad noticed, and he started up a tee ball team that played out of Vittoria so Lukas could get his start. Thirteen years later, he is still at it.
His proudest moments have come in the postseason. After his U14 team lost in the finals one year, they came back the next season and won the B OBA title. The hunger did not stop there. In U15, the group climbed again and won the A OBA championship. That same summer, Lukas earned a spot with the Southern County Storm at the Ontario Summer Games in U15, and the team brought home a bronze medal.
Ask Lukas who shaped him most, and the answer is easy. His dad. From those early tee ball days to now, his dad has always put in the work with him, helping him fix whatever needed fixing and pushing him to get better. He has also been one of Lukas's biggest supporters, in the stands and in his corner the whole way.

What's Next
Lukas has one goal circled before his minor ball career wraps up: win one more OBA championship. After all the finals, the comebacks, and the medals, he wants to add one more banner to the list while he still has the chance.
Off the field, Lukas is looking ahead to the trades. When he is older, he wants to head to college to learn one. It is a practical, hands-on path, the kind that fits a kid who has spent 13 years showing up, putting in the work, and figuring out how to get the job done.
Who He's Thanking
Lukas has a long list of people in his corner. He wants to thank his coaches, Cory Inman, Cory Moulton, Andy DeDecker, and Rich Long, for everything they have taught him about the game. He thanks his mom, Jaymie Inman, for driving him to everything, and Cooper Inman for practicing with him when nobody else could. And he is grateful for his grandparents, who show up for most games and follow along on GameChanger when they cannot make it in person.
