Game of the Night — Caledonia Bears T1 18U vs St. Marys Rockies
Top of the 1st in St. Marys, the Bears wasted no time. Chase Pickett singled to lead off, swiped a bag, and was driven in moments later — by the time the dust settled, Caledonia had a2-0lead before the home side ever swung a bat.
In the 2nd, Lucas Seabrook ripped a double to push it to 3-0. The Bears tacked on another two in the 3rd — Braxton Fleguel lifting a sacrifice fly that made it 5-0, and just like that the visitors had the cushion they needed.
Fleguel was every bit as sharp on the mound — 2.2 innings of one-hit, shutout ball with four strikeouts to earn the win. Conner Black handled the middle frames and gave up just one unearned run across two innings, and Jacob Almas closed it out. Nash Brophy turned a hit into a triple, and Alex Amos was a one-man base-running clinic with three stolen bases.
St. Marys finally got on the board in the 4th when Simon Grieg drove in a run, but it was the only crack they'd get. Five innings, and the Bears walked off the visiting side of a clean travel-ball win.
Final: Caledonia Bears T1 18U 5, St. Marys Rockies 1.
