Elite Fastball Is Coming to Fisherville This Weekend. Free Admission. Cold Beer. And the Best in the Game.
This Friday night, the diamonds in Fisherville light up for the second annual Fisherville Classic.
The Townsend Tide are hosting and they have put together one of the best fields of fastball talent this region has seen in years. Team Canada players. Team Ontario players. Team USA players. All of them coming to a small community in Haldimand County this weekend.
Free admission. BBQ. Licensed beer garden. And fastball that most towns would pay good money to watch.
What Is the ISC and Why Does It Matter
The International Softball Congress is the highest level of amateur fastball in the world. The best players in North America compete for ISC titles every year and the teams that make it there are elite by any measure.
The Townsend Tide are one of those teams.
Last year they competed at the ISC World Tournament in Mankato, Minnesota. This year they come in ranked 21st in the preseason ISC rankings and hungry to climb. The Fisherville Classic is how they open their 2026 campaign. On home soil. In front of their community.
Captian and tournament host Corey McLean is excited for what this weekend represents.
This is not just a local tournament. This is elite fastball coming to your backyard.

Meet the Field
Eight teams. Two pools. Three days of competition.
Pool A features the Townsend Tide, Niagara Snappers, U25 EFL Allstars, and Puslinch Kodiaks.
Pool B features Waterdown Hammer, Harwood Corners, Precise, and St. George Aces.
Every team in this field has earned their spot. But one team in particular deserves a special mention.
The U25 EFL Allstars, coached by Aaron Doyle, are made up of some of the best young players from the Erie Fastball League right here in the local area. This is a tournament spotlight moment for a group of talented young players competing against seasoned veterans and national team athletes. Keep an eye on them all weekend.
This is the kind of experience that shapes careers.
A Special Moment for the Youngest Fans
Saturday features four U11 kids games woven into the schedule on both diamonds.
This is intentional. The Townsend Tide and tournament organizers want the next generation of fastball players to see what the top of the game looks like up close. Young kids from local minor programs getting to share a diamond and a day with players who have represented their country.
That is what community sport is supposed to look like.
