This Mother's Day Weekend, Baseball Is Taking Over Norfolk County

This Friday night, diamonds light up in Simcoe, Port Dover, and Delhi.

Sixteen teams from across Ontario are rolling into Norfolk County for the Simcoe Giants 14U Mother's Day Classic, running May 8 to 10. Teams from Barrie, Toronto, Whitby, Waterloo, Leaside, London, Clarington, Ajax, Markham, Pelham, Cambridge, Kitchener, Dorchester, and Waterdown are all making the trip here.

They are coming to our towns. To our diamonds. To play in front of our community.

That is worth showing up for.

Grab Some Food and Pull Up a Chair

This is not just baseball. There will be concessions and BBQs running all weekend at the diamonds. Come out, grab a bite, and spend a few hours watching some of the best 14U baseball in the province.

Whether you are a baseball family or just someone who loves a good weekend outdoors, this is the kind of community event that makes living here feel pretty special.

A Program That Has Earned This Moment

The Giants do not just show up to tournaments. They compete in them.

Five straight provincial appearances. Two OBA championships. And last season they made the jump to compete at the A level, reaching the OBA A Final. This group has been building toward something for years and nine returning players are back this season with something to prove.

Three new faces have joined the roster to round out the 2026 team. The Mother's Day Classic is how they open their season. On home soil. In front of their community.

They need you in those stands.

A Small But Mighty Crew Behind It All

Running a 16 team tournament across three diamonds in three communities does not happen by accident. The people making this weekend work are parents, family, friends, and the players themselves.

No big organization behind it. No professional event staff. Just people from this community who care enough to give up their weekend so everyone else can enjoy one.

Come out. Support the volunteers. Buy something at the concession. And make some noise for the home team.
