Game of the Night: Walsingham Senators 11U vs Ironbirds 11U Rep
The Walsingham Senators 11U step into the box Thursday and simply never stop. By the time the dust settles, they have run-ruled the Ironbirds 11U Rep in five innings, and the scoreboard reads 19-6.
The story starts on the mound. Cole D goes 2.2 innings and punches out 5 to grab the win, then hands the ball to Charlie C, who slams the door with 2 innings and 6 strikeouts of his own. That is 11 strikeouts between two arms, and the Ironbirds never get comfortable in the box.
At the plate, Reed B is the engine. He finishes 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, 6 total bases and 2 RBI, missing the cycle by a single and a home run. Jase H backs him up at 2-for-2 with 2 RBI, Cole D drives in 2 more after his work on the mound, and Emerson W adds another 2-RBI day. The Senators stack hit on hit until the run rule does the rest.
Credit the Ironbirds for swinging back. Colin F drove in a pair with a triple, and Emmitt M picked up two hits to keep his squad in the at-bats. But on this night, the diamond belonged to Walsingham from the first pitch to the last.
Final: Walsingham Senators 11U 19, Ironbirds 11U Rep 6.

Around the Diamond
Simcoe Giants 16U had Woodstock right where they wanted them, jumping out to a 5-0 lead at Memorial Park before the Wranglers stormed back for a 10-8 win. The bats still showed up for Simcoe: Jayden Ling went 2-for-3 with a double, Kellen Cameron doubled and drove in 2, and Liam Shortt added a double of his own.
Cayuga held its nerve in a back-and-forth U13 girls fastball game, edging Port Dover 8-6 after the visitors clawed all the way back. Teagan and Lizzie each knocked in a run to pace the Cayuga offense and keep their hosts a step ahead at the finish.
Port Dover U13 Girls refused to fold after spotting Cayuga a 5-0 first-inning lead, actually out-hitting their hosts 4 to 3 before falling 8-6 on the road. Robyn H, Chelsea S, and Helaina M each drove in a run, and Tessa B kept the line moving with a hit.
