Hometown Sports Recap — Monday, June 22, 2026 — Jarvis J's Blank Niagara on Stone's Gem
Powered by Walker Mortgages— your hometown mortgage coach.
Quiet diamonds turned loud Monday night in Jarvis, where the senior J's leaned on a shutout gem from Sawyer Stone to blank the Niagara Express2-0. Around the hometown counties, the Caledonia Bears 18U T2 pulled away late at Henning Park, Walsingham edged Caledonia in an 11U nail-biter, and a wild 9U slugfest in Simcoe piled up more than 50 hits between the two sides.
Game of the Night: Jarvis J's vs Niagara Express
The lights are on in Jarvis and the Express never get comfortable. Sawyer Stone takes the ball for the senior J's and gives the Niagara lineup almost nothing to chew on. He goes the distance, scattering just two hits across a complete game, and the signature moment comes when he strikes out the side on nine pitches, three up and three down in an immaculate inning that has the home crowd buzzing.
Offense is at a premium in a game like this, so the J's manufacture exactly what they need. A Feeney sets the tone at the plate, going 2-for-4 and staying a threat every time up. L Hunter and M Walker each drive in a run, and that is the whole ballgame. Two runs is plenty when the man on the mound is dealing like that.
There is no late drama because Stone does not allow any. He works quick, pounds the zone, and lets his defense play behind him. The Jarvis staff finishes with 17 strikeouts on the night, but this one belongs to the starter. By the time the final out lands, the Express have managed only those two hits and zero runs.
Final: Jarvis J's 2, Niagara Express 0.
