Hometown Sports Recap — Wednesday, July 15, 2026 — Timberwolves U15 Battle Six Nations
Gaylord Powless Arena had the only hometown action Wednesday night, and it came with a fight. The Simcoe Timberwolves U15 pushed Six Nations to within a goal midway through their playoff round robin tilt before falling 7-4. G. Phillips buried two for Simcoe, and W. Butler added a shorthanded strike. It was a lacrosse-only night across the zone, with the Timberwolves the lone hometown squad on the floor.
Game of the Night: Six Nations vs Simcoe Timberwolves U15
The Simcoe Timberwolves U15 walked into Gaylord Powless Arena for a Playoff "E" round robin date with Six Nations, and for two periods they made it a real scrap. Six Nations came out flying and grabbed a 4-2 lead in the first, with W. Thomas doing the early damage on his way to a hat trick. Simcoe didn't blink.
The second period belonged to the visitors. Simcoe scored the only goal of the frame, and suddenly it was 4-3 with a period to play. The third is where the game turned. L. Harris scored on the power play, the eventual game winner, and Six Nations tacked on two more to pull away. C. Jamieson finished with a pair for the home side, D. Simon added another, and J. Thomas earned the win in goal.
Simcoe's offense kept working to the final whistle. G. Phillips scored twice, H. Stewart found the back of the net, and W. Butler's shorthanded goal was one of the grittier moments of the night, a kid killing a penalty and turning it into offense. The Timberwolves won stretches of this game on pure effort, but Six Nations' third-period push settled it. Final: Six Nations 7, Simcoe Timberwolves U15 4.
The rest of Wednesday's Z9 playoff slate belonged to out-of-area clubs, with Pelham, Burlington, Fort Erie, Lincoln, Niagara-on-the-Lake and St. Catharines squads filling out the round robins. No other hometown teams were in action.
