Caledonia Bears 18U T2 went the distance in Waterloo Thursday night, but came up just short on a bottom-of-the-9th walk-off. Elsewhere across Norfolk and Haldimand, the Simcoe Giants 16U put together a 16-1 rout, the Hagersville Ladies handled Fisherville, and the U13 Haldimand Bulls held off Plattsville behind a dominant complete game.
Game of the Night: Waterloo Tigers T2 18U vs Caledonia Bears 18U T2
This one needed extra time to settle. Caledonia Bears 18U T2 traded runs with Waterloo Tigers T2 18U through regulation, with N. Duncan piling up two hits and J. Stoddart doubling in a run to keep the Bears in it.
Waterloo's Franklin worked seven innings on the mound, striking out seven while walking four, and kept his club within striking distance. The bats did the rest. Erb went 2-for-3 with two RBI, and Huber chipped in two hits of his own.
Tied heading to the bottom of the 9th, Waterloo needed just one more swing. Erb delivered it, singling home the winning run to send the home crowd at Bechtel Park home happy and hand Caledonia a tough one to swallow after nine full innings of work.

Simcoe Giants 16U ran away with it at Memorial Park, crushing Kitchener Panthers 16U Team 2, 16-1. L. Staats and T. Campbell-Poirier combined on the mound to allow just one unearned run, while C. Leach drove in three on a pair of extra-base hits and J. Hazen added three RBI of his own.
Hagersville U15/17 Ladies handled Fisherville at Grant Kett Park, winning 10-4. I. Deboer picked up the win, striking out six over four innings, and four different hitters drove in a run.
Jarvis J's ran into a pitcher's duel against Fisherville A's and came up empty in a 1-0 shutout loss. D. Schweyer struck out 11 over 5.1 innings for Fisherville A's, and a game-winning RBI single in the middle innings was all the offense either side could muster.
U13 Haldimand Bulls 2026 held off Plattsville Lightning, 7-5, behind a complete game from Brett H, who struck out 14 while allowing no earned runs and added two RBI of his own at the plate. Kieran A chipped in three hits and two stolen bases.
Simcoe Giants 9U split a doubleheader with Ingersoll Ironbirds Rep 9U at the 9U level, playing to a wild 21-21 tie in the opener before taking the nightcap 14-6. Jackson I and Ben G each had multi-hit nights in the second game.
