World class fast pitch lands at Jarvis Lions Park this Thursday, a trivia night fundraiser fills the Delhi Soccer Hall on Friday, and the Norfolk County Sports Hall of Recognition celebrates six new inductees in early July. Here is what is coming up in local sports across Norfolk and Haldimand over the next few weeks. Three events to get on the calendar, each one an easy night out with the family.

Jarvis Lions Present World Class Fast Pitch

The Jarvis Lions Club is bringing real fast pitch firepower to town this Thursday. Game 1 puts the Hill United Chiefs against the Saskatoon Jacks, and Game 2 has the Townsend Tide taking on the Jacks. This is the level of softball most families only catch on a screen, happening right here at Jarvis Lions Park.

There is a pig roast with pork on a bun, plus a beer garden for guests 19 and over. Admission is free, so the whole family can come out, grab some food, and watch elite ball under the lights.

Here is the part that matters most. Every dollar from the night goes back into Jarvis Lions Park and Jarvis Minor Ball. So you show up for a great evening and you are putting money straight back into the diamonds our kids play on.

Trivia Night FUNdraiser

Grab a few friends and put your heads together. The Norfolk County Sports Hall of Recognition is hosting a trivia night at the Delhi Soccer Hall, and at $5 a person it is one of the cheapest fun nights you will find this summer.

Categories run from Current Events to Food and Drink to General Knowledge and more, so you do not need to be a sports buff to hold your own. The money raised helps keep the Hall of Recognition going, the group that makes sure Norfolk County's sporting history and its people get remembered.

Norfolk County Sports Hall of Recognition Induction Gala

Once a year the Norfolk County Sports Hall of Recognition stops to honour the athletes, builders, and teams who shaped the county's sporting history. This year's gala dinner welcomes six new inductees who made Norfolk County proud.

The 2026 class: Jim Turkiewicz, Sean Jamieson, David Howard, Pat Murphy, John Axford, and Walter Krawec. If you have followed local sports for any stretch of time, those are names worth standing up for.

It is a dinner, a celebration, and a chance to sit in a room full of the people who built the games our kids play. Tickets are $75 and the night tends to fill up.
